Casey County Community Ministries

Affiliate of the Kentucky Ecumenical Empowerment Project (KEEP)

 
Located in Liberty, KY, Casey county Community Ministries is a non-profit organization of churches and community-based organizations established in 1994.  A board that seeks to be inclusive of ministers and laity, county seat and country folk, women and men, and young and old direct the ministry.

The people of Casey County Community Ministries seek to demonstrate their faith in partnership and in service to others.
 

Areas of Ministry:

  • The Gathering Place -- thrift store in downtown Liberty that sells good, clean, used clothing, shoes, boots, and various household goods.  The coffee and warm advice are free.   
    Monday - Saturday, 9:00am - 4:30pm
     

  • Community Food Pantry -- located in the Gathering Place to collect in surplus and distribute in need.
     

  • Youth and Community Center -- opened in 1998 along the Green River at Gate Way Park after more than two years of planning and community-wide investment of money and labor.
     

  • Reading by the River -- working in cooperation with public schools to train reading coaches for young readers who need help to improve their comprehension.  Over 50 middle-school students are currently coaching elementary students.
     

  • Other programs under the CCCM umbrella -- American Red Cross, Toys for Tots, Casey County ACTS, Garden Seed Program, and United Way.
