In the burley belt, farm sector congregations are located in communities economically dependent on growing and marketing tobacco.  This manual is a collection of presentations made at a 1994 workshop at Lexington Theological Seminary on the special economic, social, spiritual, and ethical dilemmas faced by these congregations and leaders of the whole Church..

From Pancakes to People
$10.00 postage paid

This VHS video cassette combines photographs and commentary telling stories from the cooperative mission between Kentucky Ecumenical Empowerment Project (KEEP) in Kentucky Appalachia and Disciple Men of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  From 1996 to 1998, part of the funds raised by Disciple Men's groups across the United States and Canada through International Day of Pancakes breakfasts came to Kentucky Appalachian Ministry.  During those years, volunteer men came to work projects to build or renovate a Youth and Community Center in Liberty, KY, and Family Ministry Centers in Lancaster and Stanford, KY.
